The Evo Drone From Autel Makes Debut At CES 2018

It looks like the DJI Mavic Pro finally has some competition. After suffering some setbacks in 2017 Autel Robotics, a company that specializes in the sale of drone and aerial photography devices, is back and ready to show the world what they are made of. The company kicked off CES 2018 will the release of their new and first portable aircraft Evo Drone.

The EVO is a compact aircraft packed full of intelligent flight features, giving users endless possibilities. Featuring a 4K camera on a 3-axis gimbal, allows users to experience a full 94-degrees of field of view while recording beautiful high definition footage at 60 Frames per Second. Rear and Front sensors let EVO fly with multiple intelligent flight modes and obstacle avoidance. The system also comes with a built-in 3.3 inch OLED screen with live HD dual-band transmission and a 7KM range.

DroneDJ.com posted an article discussing the similarities between the new Evo and the Mavic Pro, and we have to agree, the two systems look A LOT ALIKE. Both feature small, and compact designs with the ability to fold it up, throw it in a bag ( not literally) and go. The article even goes on to say that it “looks like it could be a serious contender in the category of roughly $1,000 foldable drones”. Hmm. Is this too good to be true? Actual compeition for DJI?

Compatible with both iOS and Android device, the AUTEL EXPLORER™ APP connects with the Evo, opening up even more features. Users can access autonomous flight modes such as Orbit, GPS Follow, Dynamic Track, Viewpoint, and Waypoint mission planning, and customize settings to your personal preference.

While pricing has not yet been announced, the system does look like it will be shipping at some point this year.

What do you think? Could there finally be some real competition with DJI’s drones? If so how long before DJI counters with their latest and greatest new system? Comment below and tell us your thoughts!

Holy hell! This EVO looks great and may get my $$$ for a foldable 4k drone. I cannot wait to see the final product and price point.
