TeAx Technology Announces New Dual Thermal Camera Solution

TeAx Technology has announced the release of ThermalCapture Fusion, a dual camera solution that captures and stores both thermal and visual data.

“Small commercial drones were missing out on a solution of a perfectly aligned dual camera, which connects both the thermal and the visual world professionally together,” said Markus Ax, CEO of TeAx Technology. “Until today, approaches from the market were rather self-made workarounds then appropriate solutions. We at TeAx Technology took the time to design and engineer a proper and lightweight solution. The goal was to create a payload, being available and compatible with most small drones operating in the market.”

ThermalCapture Fusion was developed with the goal of being a completely stand-alone and flexible drone payload, and was also designed to be compatible with most commercial small drones currently in use. The total weight of the system is 130g / 0.28lb (excluding a gimbal), with dimensions of 61mm x 30mm x 56mm (2.4in x 1.8in x 2.2in).

ThermalCapture Fusion features a FLIR Tau 2 thermal sensor with a resolution of 640×512, and a Sony Exmor visual sensor with a resolution of 1600×1200. Data is stored on microSD card, and GPS is built into the system, enabling geo-referencing for thermal and visual data.
